WHAT IF I HAVE VENEERS OR CROWNS ALREADY?
WHAT IF I HAVE VENEERS OR CROWNS ALREADY?
DENTAL WORK From DIGITAL ORTHODONTICS - Solo Edition by Dr. Bak Nguyen
Unless the veneers or the crowns have been drastically overcompensating a misalignment issue, these teeth will be moving just like any other teeth. After the orthodontic treatment, the veneers and crowns will have to be reevaluated to be replaced or not.
For that answer, only your attending can give you a straight answer after looking in your mouth and at your smile.
Don't be surprised if you have to replace a few if not all of them to match your new smile, occlusion, and aesthetic. You had orthodontic treatment to change the alignment of your teeth in the first place, that is what is happening.
If crowns or veneers are not in yet, it is best to plan for them at the beginning of the case but to have them in only after the major alignment is already done. Crowns and veneers are custom made, it only makes sense to have them custom fit your smile once aligned.
