WHAT IF I HAVE BRIGDE WORK?

WHAT IF I HAVE BRIGDE WORK?

DENTAL WORK From DIGITAL ORTHODONTICS - Solo Edition by Dr. Bak Nguyen

A dental bridge, by definition, is the combination of 3 or more teeth restored together. That bridge cannot be moved. It will have to be evaluated if the orthodontic case can be built around the actual bridge and still give satisfying results in aesthetic, function, and occlusion.

If that is not the case, the bridge will have to be cut at the pillars, removing the pontic portion and reestablishing the pillars as independent teeth. Then, the orthodontic treatment can proceed and the missing teeth will be replaced after the completion of the orthodontics process, either with dental implants or the confection of a new bridge.

Rest assured, while in aligners therapy, it is possible to have temporary pontics to replace the missing teeth. These pontics will be made on the aligners and with them in, you can smile with confidence, even while in treatment.
