DO I HAVE A WARRANTY OR WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?

FINANCE/MONEY From DIGITAL ORTHODONTICS - Solo Edition by Dr. Bak Nguyen

Legally speaking, in the medical field, the ethics code forbids having any kind of warranty, that would be illegal. Your attending is engaging his personal responsibility treating you and will be upheld to the standard of care of that state or province. So yes, you are sort of backed by the standard of care and the licensing board.

That said, because it is medical, no 2 cases go exactly alike. Your attending responsibility is to treat, monitor, even refer (if needed) as your case progresses. Please keep in mind that you will also have to hold your part of the deal, which is compliance, discipline, maintenance, and showing up at the follow-ups.

Your attending's responsibilities are to diagnose, plan, program your aligners, and support you, medically speaking. I always tell my patients that this is a marriage for the time of treatment. It really is! So make sure that you know who you are getting involved with. This goes for both parties, patient and attending alike. Happy treatment!
